Good bye george best

George BestGeorge Best 1946-2005

GEORGE BEST,
the Irish phenomenon, was a Manchester United star for ten turbulent
years. His mastery of ball control skills and brilliance with both feet
and head made him one of the great players of the 1960s.

Playing in the same team as Charlton and Law, he
was voted Footballer of the Year twice and became European Player of
the Year in 1968 after helping United to win the European Cup at
Wembley.

Capped for Northern Ireland at 17, he was a
player who had no interest in tactics – he was destined to bring the
art of improvisation to its highest level.
